My Apologies

Sorry I haven't posted lately, but my real life has taken over in a huge way. Between the regular job, an engagement, and an impending move to Texas, I've been busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.

That said, do any of my readers have any helpful tips for taking two unruly felines by car from Seattle to Austin (I've moved them across town, but this is waaaaaay different)? If so, please put them in the comments, and thank you.

I have some fails saved up, when things quiet down I'll post 'em.

  1. If they're going to be in a crate for a longer period of time you should go to your vet and he'll give you a mild sedative you can feed them. I did this when I had to move with my cat across the country, and for the entire 6 hour plane ride she was relaxed and comfy- not exactly asleep, but not freaking out either.

  2. I second that. Try a mild sedative (I use alprazolam for my dogs) to keep them under control.

  3. I'm excited for you to come back.

  4. My cats preferred the cross-county drive to a cross-town drive. We used sedatives for a day or so but they turned out not to need them, even the crazy one just snoozed in the car as long as I drove.
